Stetson Wright Triple Crown: His 2026 NFR Chase Explained
Stetson Wright goes to the 2026 NFR in saddle bronc and bull riding, with back number 1 and a shot at rodeo's triple crown. Here's what he needs to pull it off.
By NFR Live Guide Staff ·
Stetson Wright will wear back number 1 at the 2026 NFR, and he has a chance at something few cowboys ever attempt: a triple crown of the all-around, saddle bronc riding and bull riding titles in one year.
Where he stands
Wright is the only contestant to qualify in two events this year, which is why the field has 119 contestants rather than 120. He is listed third in saddle bronc riding and fourth in bull riding on the official rosters. Roundtable Sports has described the triple crown as a real possibility in Las Vegas.
Why he's the favorite to watch
The record speaks for itself. According to the official past winners list and reports of his first title in 2019, he has six all-around world titles. He has also won two gold buckles in a single year several times, with the all-around and bull riding in 2020, 2022 and 2025, and the all-around and saddle bronc riding in 2021. That brought his total to 10 world titles.
What he has to do
All-around money comes from two or more events, so entering both gives him a built-in edge there. The event titles are harder. In saddle bronc riding, he has to beat Rusty, Ryder and Statler, his three brothers, along with Zeke Thurston. In bull riding, Noah Lee, Tristen Hutchings and Luke Mackey go into Las Vegas ahead of him.
Competing in two roughstock events every night is also a physical test. He has to ride twice a night for 10 straight nights.
How to follow it
Both events are on every performance. See how to watch NFR 2026 and check the results page after each round.
